These days, more and more dog parents are not only cooking meals for their dogs, but also baking and whipping up lots of delicious dog treats. It's really not surprising because we, as dog parents, all want to make sure that the ingredients are safe and of the best quality, without the unwanted preservatives and artificial flavors that are so often added to store-bought dog food and treats.

Quite often, visitors to this site ask me to post more recipes on baking natural dog treats. I think it would be great fun if some contests were held where visitors (i.e. YOU!) could share and exchange recipes.

That's why in 2013 we are going to hold 6 bi-monthly Natural Dog Treat Recipe contests.

The first contest will start on the 1st of January and end on the 28th of February. (The second contest will start on the 1st of March and end on the 30th of April, and so on.)

By entering our contests, not only can you share your recipes with other dog parents, but you may also win a prize! It will be extremely helpful to other dog parents if we all share dog treat recipes that are healthy, relatively easy to make, and loved by our fur-babies!

Guidelines to Enter

You can submit more than one recipe.
Only recipes that contain all natural ingredients that are safe for dogs will be considered.
Each recipe must be accompanied by an original photo of the finished treat so we know how it looks like. DO NOT copy photos from other sources. You can also submit photos (up to 3) of different preparation stages.
(Important Note on Image Size: When submitting photos, make sure that they are smaller than 600Kb in order for them to load properly.)
We prefer original recipes tested and made by you (and approved by your dogs!). If your recipe is not original, please be sure to include the source (e.g. if you got the recipe from the Internet, include the URL to the site.)
Give the recipe a catchy name and write out the recipe in a step-by-step, easy to understand way. In addition to the recipe, you may also want to write something personal (e.g. how you came up with the recipe, or how your dogs reacted to the treat the first time you made it, etc.) Sharing your personal experiences will add a special personal touch to the recipe.
Your write-up needs to be at least 150 words.
Please do not send photo collages, photos that are low resolution, small, blurry, or watermarked.
