My Dog Tula Has Vascular Cancer

My sweetest girlfriend had to undergo an emergency splenectomy two weeks ago, and has been diagnosed with the incurable cancer HSA. I have been so very sad, and yet I am so grateful to have a little more time to spend with my sweetheart.
Tula is only 7 years old, an English Redcoat Lab. I thought we had more time. No other organs seem to be affected yet, and so I am doing all I can to make her comfortable, happy, and healthy. I am cooking her meals using fresh organic produce.
After surgery the doctor said to feed her boiled chicken and rice. I am still doing that and have added supplements, vitamin C, goat yogurt, and broccoli (her favorite).
My question is does anyone know of a better diet? I have read that you don't want to feed them grains, and keep them on a low protein diet, while giving them omega-3 so I am confused.
Also, I have read that broccoli is not good for them, or to feed them just the stems, not the flowers.
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
