Healthy Dog Treat Recipes

Want to know to how to make dog treats that are healthy and delicious for your dog? Great! Baking for your dog does not have to be complicated and troublesome. Follow these simple healthy dog treat recipes and you can make lots of healthy and yummy treats for your dog.

When baking or cooking for your dog, the most important point to remember is of course natural ingredients that are safe for dogs to consume. I have seen some recipes on the Internet that use such ingredients as raisins, onions, and even comfrey leaves in dog treats. These are all ingredients which may cause health hazards to dogs. Please therefore double check the ingredients when you are searching for recipes on the Internet to make sure that they do not contain unsafe ingredients. Visit Unsafe Herbs for Dogs and Cats and Dog Poisoning Substances for more information.

Also avoid ingredients that are unhealthy or prone to cause allergic reactions in dogs, such as sugar, corn syrup, and go easy on salt. If your dog is allergic to wheat, you can try substituting wheat flour with rice flour. If you are unsure whether your dog is fine with a particular ingredient, check with your vet.
