From One Cancer To The Next! West Aussie Query

Can someone please help me?
Last year I had my 10 year old "Lucky", treated for lumps along the mammary line and we believed that the Cancer had been successfully removed. After checking with our Vet after noticing lethargy and heavy breathing, it has come back in the form of a lung cancer. Our Vet has stated that he feels we should put our girl down and although I feel that she has a few more years the fact is that she cannot use her hind legs and is having difficulty drinking, eating, and going to the toilet. I don't want to be inhumane but I definitely don't want my girl to suffer either! She also has arthritic symptoms in her tail-bone at the base of her tail that also has affected her considerably which I believe is the catalyst for her being unable to walk.
If there are any treatments/course of action that people could suggest that could possibly assist our girl to regain sensation or movement, I would certainly appreciate it as at this time all we have at our disposal is Cortisone...
