Fish Oil for Dogs

Fish oil for dogs is extremely beneficial to the overall health of our poochies. If you haven't started feeding fish oil to your dogs yet, please do! You will be pleasantly surprised with the result.

Fish oil, such as salmon oil, cod liver oil, and sardine oil, is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA). Recent research shows that fish oil has more positive benefits on pets with disease, because the fatty acids contained in fish oil are readily available for use. In particular, fish oil has positive effects on dogs with inflammatory diseases, such as allergies, arthritis, kidney and heart disease, and cancer. Flaxseed oil does not seem to be as beneficial to dogs with inflammatory diseases. Fish oil can also make your dog's coat shiny and soft (in this respect, so can flaxseed oil).

Fish oil for dogs can help dogs with skin problems (such as hot spots, dry and flaky skin, and itching). My dog, Hana, used to have itchy skin, but ever since she started taking fish oil, she seldom scratches anymore, and her coat is soft like silk. People who meet her for the first time are always surprised at her soft coat. They love touching and cuddling her!

If your dog is over 7 years old, it is all the more important to supplement her diet with fish oil, because fish oil is effective in reducing inflammation associated with arthritis. Fish oil can also prevent certain cardiovascular problems in dogs, such as high blood pressure. In addition, fish oil can prevent the growth and slow down the development and spread of certain cancer tumors, as well as strengthen the dog's immune system.

Only Natural Pet Salmon Oil

This fish oil is mild and does not have any "fishy" smell. Dogs (and cats) seem to like the taste, and the best thing is, it is 100% pure salmon oil that has no trans fat and is toxin-free. Highly recommended!

A hint for finding low cost canned fish
by: Patrick S

Hello,

I would like to share a hint to us poor people who are struggling to heal our companions. I am blessed to live in an Alaskan fishing town and get salmon easily. I know that a super high quality food is out of reach for many but, I would like to point out that wild caught pink salmon (called dog fish here because it's the least tasty and most oily.) is distributed by the USDA food programs. Local food banks often get canned fish. Also many grocery stores carry the same salmon with a different label. Look for pink salmon in a 14 -16 oz. can with ALASKA stamped on the lid.

I hope this helps some people to get the best stuff on earth for your dog.
