Emmet
My boyfriend and I volunteer twice a year for a pet adoption event at a local car dealership.
This past September, the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society participated and had a collie mix puppy, who was almost 5 months old at the time, up for adoption. We fell in love with him the moment we saw him! He was very sweet and loving. When we heard that his previous owner had been keeping him in a basement, neglecting him, kicking him, throwing him down stairs, etc, we immediately decided to adopt him. We named him Emmet.
We have two other dogs at home, and Emmet loves them. He plays great with them, follows their lead and has adapted wonderfully to his new home. He was completely potty trained within two weeks, has not destroyed anything as of yet (knock on wood!) and you would never know the abuse he suffered because he's the happiest, most loving dog we've ever had!
My boyfriend is a teacher who had no kids one afternoon, so he brought Emmet to work and took his picture at a desk! He received a nice big treat for displaying his newest trick, "stay"! He's now 6 months old and doing great!
